[Order of the Holy Rose] A little early thought on Lent in Advent

With all the shelves already filled in the supermarkets again with seasonal sweets and cakes that are not yet meant to be there at all
it might be a good thought to refuse buying them and return to a period of voluntary fasting and penitence of a second Lent in Advent
as, after all, the Holy Family did not exactly feast in Advent before and not even on Christ's birth and neither are most of mankind able
to even receive their daily bread. Enough reason to be humble and live in thanksgiving through Our Lord's gifts to us alone, which we receive by God's mercy as long as we are still their recipients. As I hear so often recently - 'life is too short'..., giving people an excuse for excesses rather than for getting nourished in one's soul through Christ's living word, of which we are part, too, if we only care to be.
